Lance Denes, PhD
Postdoctoral Research Associate, Institute for Systems Genetics, NYU Grossman School of MedicineHi, I’m Lance. I like to surf and ride my bike. Most days I think about science. I trained with Eric Wang at the University of Florida College of Medicine for my PhD, where we discovered that RNA molecules can’t move in muscle cells. I did my postdoctoral research with Timothee Lionnet and Liam Holt at the NYU School of Medicine, where we discovered that disordered protein function doesn’t require linear sequence. I’m applying for faculty positions, where I hope to connect biophysics and genetics using generative design of disordered proteins with biophysical assays and quantitative phenotypes in stem cell and animal models.
